Supercell said last month that the next update (probably this month) will remove compatibility for devices running iOS 11 and Android 5.0. This quickly sparked speculation and even fear that Supercell was about to abandon the long-running Clash of Clans.

Clash of Clans's future

We don't know what the future holds for Clash of Clans, but as long as it continues to be one of Supercell's most profitable games, it will continue to exist. Updates are less regular, occurring approximately once a quarter, with the most recent in September.


It's been a long since we've had a truly exciting update, and it's concerning that Clash of Clans is beginning to seem stale. Even with the addition of new Super Troops and Town Hall levels, there isn't the same degree of enthusiasm. However, Clash of Clans is not going anywhere soon.


Extending the Universe of Clash
